CroisiEurope ships prepare for restart with health safety certification

French river cruise specialist CroisiEurope is to adopt infection prevention measures across its fleet as it prepared to resume sailings.

‘Safeguard’ certificates will be issued once each of the 30 river vessels and two ocean cruise ships have been through the process organised by testing, inspection and certification expert Bureau Veritas.

BV will help the company demonstrate that infection prevention measures have been put in place and have been “rigorously” audited.

The development follows the company setting up a range of health protocols for the fleet alongside European industry guidelines.

A date for the resumption of services has yet to be confirmed.

A CroisiEurope spokesperson said: “We are delighted to partner with Bureau Veritas for setting up the Safeguard label.

“This certification confirms the efficiency of the health protocol our teams have been working on for several weeks.

“It will allow our guests and crew to stay in high health security environment for the restart of our cruises.”

BV marine and offshore Northern Europe vice president Herman Spiker added: “This customised service is helping CroisiEurope put in place and confirm that measures they have established meet the required standards to provide confidence to resume operations.

“This sevice is all about protecting people, fitting perfectly with our core mission as a class society as well as our expertise in both seagoing and inland waterway passenger ships.”
