Flights cancelled as strikes hit Greece

Flights, ferries and trains are to be affected by a 48-hour general strike across Greece starting today (Tuesday, June 28). All flights to and from Greek airports will be cancelled from 8am to 12 and 6pm to 10pm on both days.

All port services will be suspended for two days, including ferry services throughout the country, according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Rail services will be suspended for 48 hours including the Athens urban railway and suburban trains. The capital will also be without buses, tams and trolley buses.

There is also possible disruption to power supplies until June 30 due to industrial action, the FCO warned.
