The UK Border Agency is warning of “severe” disruption at airports on Thursday if planned strikes by public sector workers go ahead.
According to a report on guardian.co.uk, the UKBA has gone as far as suggesting that passengers avoid flying if possible.
A high proportion of border agency employees are members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), which has announced its intention to take industrial action between 6pm on Wednesday and midnight on Thursday.
According to the Guardian report, the UKBA wrote to airlines suggesting that some passengers may experience delays and suggested “those passengers who can travel on an alternative day may therefore wish to do so”.
