Princess Cruises outlines US west coast deployment

A fleet of five ships is being deployed by Princess Cruises on the US west coast in winter 2011-22.

All cruise line sailings in US waters are currently stopped under strict regulations designed to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Princess Cruises’ vessel Grand Princess was held off San Francisco in March as one of a number of the line’s ships to be struck by coronavirus, including Diamond Princess in Japan.

The line has now outlined a series of sailings on the US west coast between September 2021 and April 2022.

Grand Princess will return with Los Angeles departures to Hawaii and the Baja Peninsula.

Majestic Princess is being added to the deployment from Los Angeles for the first time.

Ships will also sail from San Francisco to destinations including Mexico, Hawaii and the California coast.

Discovery Princess will join sister ship Majestic Princess sailing from Los Angeles on seven-day cruises to Mexico and California.

Ruby Princess will sail a second season of Hawaii, Mexico, and California Coast sailings from San Francisco.

Sapphire Princess will alos sail from Los Angeles.

The company said: “We are currently assessing enhanced health and safety protocols in light of Covid-19 and how they may impact our future offerings.”

The programme goes on sale on July 8.
