Saga Cruises’ new ship Spirit of Adventure is to sail its first voyage on November 5.
The sailing will depart Southampton for the Mediterranean before returning to the UK.
Saga paused all cruise operations in mid-March as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. All cruises on board fellow 999-passenger ship Spirit of Discovery, which launched last year, have been postponed until at least September 1.
A trade preview sailing on board the new ship had originally been due to take place from August 11, but was postponed earlier this month, when head of trade sales Iain Powell said it was “unclear” if it could be rescheduled.

Government to unveil ‘Covid travel list’
Nigel Blanks, managing director of Saga Cruises, said: “We are delighted to announce the planned inaugural sailing of the Spirit of Adventure, our new luxury cruise ship. For her first voyage, the Spirit of Adventure will leave Southampton on November 5 to sail the Mediterranean, before returning to the UK.
“My team is in the process of calling all passengers booked on the inaugural cruise to update them with this latest development and we look forward to welcoming them onboard. We have been working with the industry and government to put in place state-of-the-art appropriate health protocols, putting guest safety first to ensure a return to service in the autumn.”
