Oslo explosion leaves buildings damaged and dozens injured

Dozens are reported injured after an explosion tore through a government building in the Norwegian captial Oslo.

The building contains the office of Norway’s Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, who is reported to be unhurt.

The Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten – which has pictures of smoke pouring from the targeted building – quotes witnesses as saying Oslo’s Market Street is “full of chaos” with people “running around bewildered,” some with blood on their faces and hands.

“You can smell the sulphur fumes,” the newspaper’s reporter says.

Local offices are being evacuated.
