Beachcomber’s Rupert Diggins takes voluntary redundancy

Beachcomber Tours regional sales manager Rupert Diggins has announced he is taking voluntary redundancy from the company.

Diggins, who is well known in the travel trade, made the announcement on his Twitter and Instagram accounts on social media.

He has been with the company for five years during which time he has helped to double revenue from travel agents in the south of England through face-to-face visits, training, social media and developing new accounts. He was one of four regional sales managers for Beachcomber.

He said: “The effect Covid 19 has had on our fragile industry is so heartbreaking, with so many fantastic industry colleagues now, like myself, seeking a new role. I wish my colleagues at Beachcomber every success for the future.”

He added: “For me it is time to seek a new challenge in this new normal. I’m now actively looking for a new opportunity.”

While on furlough from the company, Diggins set up a blog, justonefortheroad.com. “I have now started to grow that and who knows where that road may take me,” he added.

Prior to Beachcomber Tours, Diggins worked for Balkan Holidays and Holiday Options.
