Iberostar plans to continue a phased reopening with more than 45 properties set to open in nine destinations over the summer months.
The hotel operator reopened its first hotel, the Iberostar Cristina in Majorca, in June, and has since opened further properties in Montenegro, Tunisia, mainland Spain, Mexico and Jamaica.
It now plans to open a further 45 hotels covering Spain, Portugal, Montenegro, Greece, Tunisia, Morocco, Jamaica, Mexico and Cuba.
Those scheduled to open include Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya, Iberostar Selection Playa Mita and Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Cancún in Mexico; Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites in Jamaica, Iberostar Alcudia Park, Iberostar Selection Playa de Muro Village, Iberostar Selection Llaut Palma in Majorca; Iberostar Selection Andalucía Playa, Iberostar Selection Marbella Coral Beach and Iberostar Isla Canela in Andalusia; and Iberostar Selection Lanzarote Park, Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace and Iberostar Selection Anthelia, in the Canary Islands.
Iberostar said it had worked closely with a “medical consultancy comprised of renowned experts in public health, health security, virology and epidemiology” to create new guidance for reopening.
