Hungary’s geography is defined by its two main waterways, the Danube and the Tisza. Imagine a sea where the sunset paints a glowing golden bridge onto the water, and Balaton – central Europe’s largest lake – has exactly that.
Budapest, Hungary’s capital, is the country’s largest and most-populated city. Its colourful architecture and centuries of history have created its intriguing mix of styles.
Some are well-known landmarks, such as the Chain Bridge, the oldest of its kind in the city, or the parliament building, the third-biggest national assembly building in the world. But there is so much more here that visitors will find plenty to make lasting memories.
The ‘WOW Hungary’ brand – short for ‘Wellspring of Wonders Hungary’ – focuses on areas outside the capital, while the ‘Budapest, Spice of Europe’ brand introduces the capital city of Budapest to visitors.
