Tui confirms Portugal return from August 29

Tui will restart flights and package holidays to Portugal from August 29 after the country was added to the UK’s safe list of countries.

Portugal was added to the list of countries exempt from quarantine requirements for returning passengers on Thursday, having initially been left off. The change was reflected in advice from the FCO, which lifted its guidance against non-essential travel to the mainland in addition to the Azores and Madeira.

A Tui spokesperson said: “We’re really pleased the government has confirmed British travellers will be able to holiday to Portugal without the need to quarantine on their return to the UK.

“In line with the latest advice, we will be resuming flights to Portugal from 29 August. We look forward to welcoming our customers back very soon.”

Jet2 previously announced it would return to Portugal from Monday, August 24, and subsequently added more flights and holiday options due to demand.
