Mission Impossible movie makers ‘rent Hurtigruten ships’

The film crew working on the latest Mission Impossible movie with Tom Cruise are reported to be staying in a Hurtigruten ship off the coast of Norway.

Hurtigruten has rented two ships, MS Vesterålen and MS Fridtjof Nansen, according Norway Today.

The Norwegian media outlet said that MS Fridtjof Nansen (pictured) is docked at Hellesylt and is functioning as a hotel-ship for 400 film crew during August and September.

It is not known what the second ship is used for.

A blog on the Bolsover Cruise Club website said “rumours are circulating” that the ships may appear in the Mission Impossible 7 movie.

The blog also said several scenes have already been filmed in Åndalsnes, one of Norway’s most popular cruise ports.

The Sun newspaper reported that Tom Cruise has picked up the £500,000 bill for renting one of the ships for cast and crew.

It said the actor wanted to ensure there were no further delays to filming as production had been stopped in February due to the pandemic.
