Cunard Line is to start offering weddings at sea from spring 2012.
The line will offer a number of packages on its three ships.
A brochure detailing the programme will be released in November 2011, with the programme going on sale in December.
Cunard’s ‘Weddings at Sea’ programme will begin after its world voyages have been completed.
The line has been able to start offering weddings after re-flagging its ships from Southampton to Bermudan registry, allowing ceremonies to be conducted on board.
President and managing director Peter Shanks said: “Most of our competitors have been developing increasingly popular and lucrative ‘Weddings at Sea’ programmes, and these are now very big business in the cruise industry.
“We receive a lot of enquiries about the possibility of being married on one of our ships – particularly about weddings in mid-Atlantic on board Queen Mary 2, which no other company can offer.”
