Princess Cruises is cancelling a number of European sailings next year but increasing its ex-UK capacity and bringing new ship Sky Princess to Southampton as part of changes to ship deployment.
The cancellations affect an unspecified number of 2021 departures by Crown Princess and Sky Princess, with agents told they will receive information to pass on to clients.
The deployment changes will see 10 British Isles voyages by Crown Princess moved to new ship Sky Princess departing on the same dates.
The Royal class ship’s 2021 summer season in Europe will now consist of sailings to the British Isles and the Baltic departing from Southampton.
The vessel’s remaining Baltic sailings will change from 11-day Copenhagen departures to 12-day cruises from Southampton.
At the same time, passengers booked on a Crown Princess ‘Western Europe Passage’ voyage will be moved to Regal Princess departing on October 23, 2021.
The line said: “As a result of these changes, there have been voyage cancellations on both Crown Princess and Sky Princess.
“The new British Isles and Baltic voyages departing from Southampton on Sky Princess are being created and will be on sale later in September.
“Guests impacted will receive communications from their travel agent.”
The new changes follow the company replacing Grand Princess sailings from Southampton next summer with 17 departures by larger and newer vessel Regal Princess.
But two seven-day Europe cruises by 22-year-old Grand Princess were cancelled due to the 2,600-passenger vessel being re-deployed to the US west coast operating from Los Angeles.
