The winners of this year’s Silver Travel Awards are due to be announced this week in the first virtual version of the event.
More than 225,000 votes have been cast for the annual awards, run by Silver Travel Advisor, which honour the best travel companies for the over-50s – a 60% increase on 2019 voting.
There is still time to register for the free event, which will be hosted by broadcaster and former MP Gyles Brandreth from 3-3.45pm on Tuesday, September 15.
One viewer who tunes in via Zoom will win a case of wine.
Debbie Marshall, founder and managing director of Silver Travel Advisor, said: “With a record-breaking 225,000 votes having been cast to identify this year’s Silver Travel Awards winners, this is an event that celebrates the very best in travel for the older traveller, made even more telling in this unprecedented year.
“So many older travellers have wanted to acknowledge their favourite travel operators, destinations and travel agents. The winners will be revealed in a ceremony based at the Wallace Collection, home to the famous Laughing Cavalier portrait, and Gyles Brandreth will be keeping the pace fast and furious as our very own irrepressible master of ceremonies.
“We do hope you will register to join us – it’s free and you could be the lucky winner of a case of wine as well as one of the coveted trophies.”
