Abta has appointed Danny Waine as its first head of membership.
Waine is currently commercial manager of HHD, the holiday homes division of Hotelplan Group, and is one of the founders of weddings and honeymoons specialist Perfect Weddings Abroad.
He is also a board member of the ITT and vice-chair of its education and training committee.
He leaves HHD on October 13 and starts his new role on October 19, working with the association’s travel agent, tour operator and OTA members and reporting to John De Vial, director of membership and financial services.
Waine said: “Abta is an iconic brand and I am looking forward to rolling my sleeves up and engaging closely with members as they look to the future of the industry.
“My initial focus will be on helping members deal with the immediate challenges facing us all but in the future I look forward to focusing on further growing membership of the association.”
