Only three travel companies feature in this year’s Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list of the UK’s fastest growing companies.
Golf travel retailer Your Golf Travel.com appears in 26th position with annual sales growth of more than 99% in the past year while Low Cost Travel Group comes in at 50th place with annual sales growth of almost 70%.
Hotel and spa operator Calcot Health & Leisure, which owns two country house hotels in the Cotswolds – Calcot Manor and Barnsley House – comes in at 100th place with 50% sales growth from £3.2 million to £10.8 million last year.
The 15th annual survey, which ranks companies by sales growth over their last three financial years, covers the tough economic period since 2007.
Your Golf Travel, founded in 2005, makes its third consecutive appearance in the league table having carried 185,000 clients in 2010, with more than half being repeat travellers.
Sales grew from £3.3 million in 2007 to £26.4 million last year and the company has launched sister companies covering spa and horse racing breaks.
With an estimated 2.5 million carryings expected this year, Low Cost Travel Group saw sales rise from £5.5 million in 2007 to £27.1 million in 2010, having secured deals to supply holidays to easyJet and lastminute.com.
Albion Ventures invested £2 million into the business in 2005 to fund expansion and since 2009 the firm has set up offices and websites in six European countries as well as acquiring a cruise agency and an airport transfers company.
Lowcost Travel Group CEO Paul Evans said: “We are very excited to feature on the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 League Table for a second year.
“Given the tough economic outlook and the current gloom and doom in the travel industry, this is fantastic recognition for everyone who works for the company which continues to go from strength to strength.
“As we approach a key booking period, we remain committed to delivering what our customers really want when they are booking a holiday, which includes flexibility, independence and ease to find the right holiday at the right price on their terms.”
