Advantage expands international network

Worldwide Independent Travel Network – the international network of travel management companies of which Advantage Travel Centres is the UK shareholder – has doubled its international reach this year to 30 countries.

The network has expanded in emerging economies as well as established markets with countries such as the US, Brazil, France, China, India, Hong Kong, Russia, Kenya and Pakistan added.

The membership now accounts for 6,000 locations, employing 25,000 staff with a combined turnover of more than $10 billion.

Chief executive Neil Armorgie said: “We have brought on board established, professional, proactive travel companies in many of the world’s emerging economies to provide the opportunity for members to share and service business travel accounts worldwide.”

Helen Sawyer, services director at Advantage member Business Travel Direct, said: “Increasingly, we have requests from our corporate accounts for the facility to manage the business travel of their overseas offices. The growth of the WIN TMC network enables us to facilitate these requests with quality independent agents who have a similar philosophy and customer service ethic to ourselves.”
