P&O Cruises to run ‘Strictly’ dance cruises

P&O Cruises has jumped on the Strictly Come Dancing bandwagon by running two cruises dedicated to the hit TV show next summer.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood and a number of unnamed dancers from the series have been signed up to appear on child-free ship Oriana.

Passengers will be able to learn the jive, foxtrot, rumba, quickstep and other routines from the professionals.

The ‘Strictly’ cruises depart Southampton on May 28 for 12 nights to the Canary Islands and on July 14 for 14 nights to the Norwegian fjords. Prices start at £1,349 per person and £1,599pp respectively.

P&O Cruises’ managing director Carol Marlow said: “We are so excited to bring the magic of the Strictly ballroom to Oriana. Our passengers will be able to learn with the professional dancers, watch extraordinary show dances and hear some of the secrets of this global phenomenon.”

Strictly Come Dancing/Dancing With The Stars’ commercial brand director Richard Halliwell said: “The Strictly brand is very well suited to an ocean cruise given the heady mixture of elegance, romance, high-class entertainment and exhilarating destinations.”
