Wizz Air has beefed up its senior management with the addition of former IAG and SAS executives.
Ex-IAG chief financial officer Enrique Dupuy de Lome Chavarri becomes an independent non-executive director of the Hungarian low cost carrier.
Dupuy de Lome Chavarri was previously CFO at Iberia and played a key role in the merger of Iberia with British Airways in 2011 and the creation of the International Airlines Group.
He was also involved in the acquisitions of BMI, Vueling, Aer Lingus and the creation of Level.
Former SAS Group vice president, European and US public affairs Charlotte Andsager also becomes an independent non-executive director.
Wizz Air chairman William Franke said that Dupuy de Lome Chavarri’s “broad industry experience and personal network” will be valuable to Wizz Air as the carrier expands across Europe.
Andsager’s expertise in regulatory affairs across various industries will also be a “key asset”.
The new additions come as the carrier plans for a swift recovery from the Covid crisis next year.
