Seabourn is claiming “tremendous support” for its 2022 world cruise.
Some segments of the 145-day voyage due to depart from Los Angeles on January 11, 2022 through to the halfway point in Shanghai are more than half sold.
Only “limited space” remains for passengers wanting to depart for the full sailing from California or a shorter segment.
The demand for the Seabourn Sojourn cruise demonstrates “underlying desire” by luxury travellers to book a long holiday at a time where travel opportunities have been limited, according to the Carnival Corporation luxury brand.
Seabourn Sojourn will call at 72 ports and destinations in 28 countries including a return to Egypt for the first time since 2014.
The journey ends in Athens on June 6, 2022.
President Josh Leibowitz said: “Given the uncertainty in the world, our Seabourn guests and travel advisors are showing a desire to book a vacation further into next year and to make that trip something very, very special.
“The world cruise in 2022 is a signature event and the demand for this cruise has demonstrated that interest.”
Global sales vice president Steve Smotrys added: “We are really encouraged by the tremendous amount of positive interest and bookings for our 2022 world cruise, which clearly demonstrates that now is the time to consider a booking rather than later on when suite availability may be limited or even sold out.
“The past few months has given travellers time to consider when they are ready to explore the world again and know that when they travel with Seabourn, they’ll visit some of the world’s most fascinating destinations, while experiencing the personalised, intuitive service we are known for.”
