Independent golf specialist travel management company Fairway International Travel has secured £1.5 million in working capital “to move on from this year’s challenges”.
The Halifax-based agency agreed the funding with ThinCats, an alternative finance provider for mid-sized SMEs.
Fairway specialises in travel for professional golfers on the PGA European Tour, European Senior Tour and European Challenge Tour plus other sports professionals.
The bespoke funding will help the TMC pursue development opportunities to maximise its offering for the 2021 golfing season.
Chief executive Bill Tannahill said: “We are really keen to get back to normal with providing our specialist sport travel services – 2021 will be all the more exciting and offers us the opportunity to support our clients even more closely, as we work together with our partners to move on from the challenges of 2020.
“ThinCats took the time to properly understand our offering and plans for the future, and we are looking forward to putting the funding to good use.”
David Parr, Thincats regional business development director, added: “FIT is a great example of the mid-sized SMEs that ThinCats specialises in funding.
“They provide a well-respected service to the pro-golfing sector, and it has been a pleasure to work with their knowledgeable and experienced team. We wish them all the best with the 2021 season.”
