Four-night breaks to Havana will feature in Cresta’s new Cities and Short Breaks brochure due to be launched in the last week of September. The operator will offer the five-star Golden Tulip Parque Central and the Accor Sevilla.Lead-in price is £536 for four nights at the Sevilla between January and March 2000.

Unijet has added a new non-stop flight fromManchester to Varadero, starting in May 2000.Air 2000 will operate the weekly Boeing 767 charter. The operator’s other flights to Cuba are from Gatwick with MonarchAirlines either via Varadero onto Holguin or vice versa.

Travelcoast is looking to build its profile withindependent agents and shake off its image as a lates specialist by bringing forward the launch of its Captivating Cubaprogramme to Novemberto coincide with other long-haul operators. Hotels in Havana have been added for 2000 – including the newly refurbished three-star Hotel Florida in Old Havana.
n superclubs opening makes it five
SuperClubs has openeda fifth resort, the all-inclusive Breezes Jibacoa, on the north coast of Cuba between Havana and Varadero. The four-star adult-only resort includes 250 guest rooms,two restaurants andconference and meetingfacilities. Prices start at around £590 for six nights including flights. Thecompany is set to open a further three hotels in Cuba over the next two years – in Cayo Coco,Holguin and Varadero -giving it a total of 2,500 rooms on the island.
n airtours introduces glasgow charter
Airtours International is introducing a fortnightly flight from Glasgow to Havana using a 314-seat Boeing 767 aircraft. The summer-only service will start in May 2000. It will serve Airtours’ programme to the resort of Varadero. Prices from Glasgow start at £768 for a two-weekall-inclusive package.
