Carnival appoints new ad agency

Carnival Cruise Lines is looking to step up communication with the UK travel trade by appointing a new advertising agency.

London-based Karmarama has been charged with developing an integrated marketing plan and communications strategy designed to build consumer awareness and demand for the brand and support the line’s communications and engagement with the trade.

The agency, which won the Carnival business following a competitive search, has a client list which includes the BBC, Nintendo and Costa Coffee.

New Carnival Cruise Lines UK managing director Adolfo Perez said: “During the review process, Karmarama demonstrated a superior understanding of our brand promise, and we believe the agency is well qualified to help us convey the essence of the Carnival Cruise Lines holiday experience to a broader UK audience.

“The travel trade is essential to our success in expanding the UK market, and we are looking to Karmarama to help with trade communication and engagement, as well.”

The ad agency’s managing director James Denton-Clark added: “Carnival Cruise Lines are gold. They’re great clients, want to do interesting work and are really going to shake the category up this year. We can’t wait to get started.”

The move comes ahead of the world’s largest cruise company adding 3,690-passenger Carnival Breeze as its 24th ship in June. The line carries more than four million passengers a year worldwide.
