Disneyland Paris outlines developments during Covid closure

Disneyland Paris has outlined future developments and refurbishment work despite the theme park’s temporary closure due to Covid-19.

Details of the redesigned Hotel New York have been revealed including a lobby featuring the more than 300 items from 95 Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios artists.

The four-star hotel is inspired by a New York art gallery, a tribute to the city that was the birthplace of the Marvel super heroes and the artists who created them.

“Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will offer contemporary comfort and personalised services while celebrating New York’s culture and vibrant energy,” the theme park said.

Other projects at the resort also continue including Avengers Campus and Cars Route 66 Road Trip, a “fully reimagined attraction”, as part of the transformation of the park.

New digital features and enhancements are being introduced in the Disneyland Paris app, including a new online hotel check-in service.

Other enhancements include the launch of Standby Pass, a free service which enables guests to book a timeslot to enter the physical queue from an attraction via the app and return to the line at a designated time during certain periods of the day, and a dining booking service.

“Both the development work and digital transformation are integral in the long-term planning of Disneyland Paris providing new experiences for guests to live new adventures at the resort,” the company said.

Disneyland Paris is taking bookings for the December 19-January 3 period “and hope to be open based on prevailing conditions nd government guidance at that time”.

The resort will then be closed again from January 4 until February 12.
