BRITISHMidland has prepared for its entry into Star Alliance by painting a new Airbus A321 with the logos of all its future partners.
The jet will go into service at Heathrow and fly on the airline’s European network.
Chief operating officer James Hogan said British Midland passengers will be able to use the partners’ airport facilities worldwide and earn frequent-flyer points on the other carriers. Widespread codesharing is also expected.
Hogan said British Midland is still working on meeting the minimum service required by Star Alliance airlines.
The airline is expected to join the group in July. Austrian Airlines, Lauda Air and Tyrolean Airlines join this month and Singapore Airlines and Mexicana later in the year.
