Abta LifeLine calls for applications to receive one of 30 Christmas dinners

Abta LifeLine is to give out vouchers to allow 30 people in the industry and their families to enjoy a full Christmas dinner.

The charity will distribute £50 Tesco vouchers to 30 recipients and is calling for people to nominate themselves or a colleague who has struggled in 2020.

Nominees must be able to demonstrate they work or have worked for an Abta member to be eligible.

Trudie Clements, director of Abta LifeLine, said: “We want to give those that have really struggled this year a little gift of Christmas dinner.

“Our community has been one of the hardest hit by the pandemic, and little gestures like this, which show people that you care, can make the world of difference.

“For some, it may not be enough, but we will try and do what we can to give our travel families the Christmas they deserve.”

Abta LifeLine offers a range of services, including emergency financial assistance, financial and other advice, and mental health support.

To nominate yourself or a colleague for one of the 30 Christmas dinner vouchers, email LifeLine@abtalifeline.org.uk with a short paragraph explaining the background to your nomination. The deadline for nominations is December 18.

  • The TravelCares appeal set up by Travel Weekly in association with Abta LifeLine continues to be open for donations to assist the charity’s essential work. If you are able to make a donation, however small, please visit justgiving.com/campaign/TravelCares
