Indonesian budget carrier Lion Air has placed a record $22.4 billion aircraft order.
The deal with Boeing is for 201 new generation 737Max aircraft and an option for a further 150.
The agreement announced at the Singapore Airshow came as the airline’s president Rusdi Kirana said Lion Air would carry 27 million passengers this year, up by 30% on 2011.
Lion Air is expected to consider a flotation within a couple of years.
