Former Cunard employee faces sex charges

A former Cunard crew member appeared in court yesterday charged with sexually assaulting a child under 13 and possessing indecent images of children.

Paul Trotter, 34, was remanded in custody after the hearing via video link at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.

He is alleged to have abused the child when working for the cruise line as a children’s activity supervisor.

Mr Trotter, of Doncaster Road Estate in Pontefract, will appear at the same court via video link on March 15.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between December 2010 and January 2011.

Mr Trotter was arrested in August when living in Salisbury and is no longer employed by Cunard.
