MANCHESTER-based six-strong travel agency Miss Ellie’s has become technology supplier X-TANT’S latest customer to buy into its Internet-based viewdata system.
The network provides greater efficiencies to the agent because it accesses tour operators’ inventories more quickly.
Miss Ellie’s managing director Ellie Doherty said: “The network has already resulted in positive changes for both staff and customers alike. With much higher network speeds, my team can now gain faster access to information and tour operators’ reservation systems thus speeding up the process of booking a holiday for both the agent and, more importantly, the holidaymaker.”
X-TANT claims some 65% of UK holidays booked electronically in the UK are transacted through the company.
It says its new network will continue to support viewdata for those agencies not ready to switch over to the Internet while at the same time providing an opportunity for users to move to managed and secure Internet-based technologies.
X-TANT managing director Dave Osborne said: “Our network will help to improve the performance of agents and operators, create new opportunities and modernise the way they transact business.”
