A senior management shake-up has seen changes to the international leadership team in Europe at Avis Budget Group.
Martin Gruber has been named vice president, commercial and Laurent Sculier as managing director, central and western Europe.
Sculier succeeds Gruber, having previously been responsible for leading the group’s Avis, Budget and France Car brands in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
He will now also lead the rental firm’s brands in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Gruber, who joined the group in 1999, has led its central European business for nine years.
He said: “I’m proud to lead Avis Budget Group’s talented international commercial team.
“We have created a team that takes care of the whole customer lifecycle, with the customer at the heart of everything we do.
“It is this customer focus that will ensure we emerge stronger from the pandemic as the world begins to safely travel again.”
Sculier added: “I am pleased to work with our colleagues and customers from across central Europe.
“This is a great opportunity for us to improve knowledge sharing between both geographies, and for us to work together on new, more flexible and innovative products; products that will provide our customers with a better rental experience.
“I am confident that Avis Budget Group will emerge stronger from this crisis and better placed to safely support our customers in their new travel plans.”
