A new river vessel is to be deployed by Viking in Egypt from September 2022.
The 82-passenger Viking Aton is being built specifically to navigate the River Nile.
The new-build will join sister ship Viking Osiris, due to enter service this year, and Viking Ra, the company’s first owned and operated ship on the Nile launched in 2018.
Viking Aton will include all outside cabins with river views; suites with two full-size rooms and balconies; a pool and sun deck with 360-degree views; Viking Lounge with floor-to-ceiling glass doors; and a terrace for al fresco dining.
Viking chairman Torstein Hagen said: “Egypt remains a top destination for many of our guests who are inspired to discover the rich history and beauty of the region.
“We will always maintain our commitment to creating meaningful experiences that are focused on the destination.
“The addition of Viking Aton is a reflection of our continued investment in Egypt; we look forward to introducing the country’s cultural treasures to even more Viking guests in the future.”
