EasyJet and Aer Lingus have both released improved traffic figures for March.
The UK budget carrier saw passenger numbers rise by 4.4% over the same month last year to 4.6 million, with an improved load factor of 88%.
EasyJet’s rolling 12 month passenger numbers were up by almost 9% to 55.7 million. Aer Lingus passenger figures rose by 8.2% last month across its network.
The Irish carrier’s mainline operations saw numbers grow by 6.4% to 736,000 over March last year. Short-haul carryings were up by 5.4% to 663,000 while long-haul numbers increased by almost 16% to 73,000.
The overall passenger load factor increased by five percentage points to 75.8%. Aer Lingus Regional passenger numbers were up by 30.4% to 73,000.
