Receiver steps in as Teletext specialist Florin stops trading

TELETEXT specialist Florin Travel has ceased trading after being unable to meet its financial commitments.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers has been appointed as receiver for the company which has two offices in Bromley and Leicester and traded under around 50 names on Teletext.

In March, the accountancy firm also acquired three-strong agency Travelbase, which had shops in Bromley, Leicester and Dublin.

The late availability specialist still has an International Air Transport Association licence but that is shortly to be revoked.

A spokesman for IATA said: “PriceWaterhouseCoopers is about to call a creditors’ meeting and when that happens Florin’s IATA licence will be removed.”

The company traded for just one week in July before tickets were taken away by IATA on July 10.

Florin had a gross average turnover of £6m each year for the last two years.
