BUSINESS travellers have been warned they will see prices rise on flights from Aberdeen to London following KLM UK’s decision to cut its service.
The carrier announced its Aberdeen-Stansted service will be dropped on September 12 as part of a series of cutbacks (Travel Weekly, August 16).
Seaforths Travel Aberdeen director Gary Hance said the decision means business travellers have no choice but to fly with British Airways.
He said:”It is disappointing because KLMUKis cutting its service. It means that the Aberdeen business traveller doesn’t have a choice. Idon’t want the Aberdeen business traveller to be discriminated against by having to pay a higher fare.”
EasyJet currently operates an Aberdeen-Luton service, but Hance said only a handful of business travellers use the service as it is not so convenient.
ABAspokesman said:”Fares fluctuate depending on demand, but we have no plans to put our prices up because BA is the only airline on the route.”
