Former Sunshine.co.uk boss Chris Brown has unveiled his latest venture HolidayTruths.co.uk following the acquisition of the website in May.
The independent holiday review website has been redesigned retaining its most popular forums and discussion boards.
Among the changes to the site, which currently attracts 12,000 unique users a day, is new search functionality and a blog offering travel advice and news.
HolidayTruths.co.uk co-owner Chris Brown said: “The core changes have not only brought the site’s design bang up to date but have made it easier to use.
“In particular, we have focused on improving the reviews themselves with a new smart search, new accommodation pages, clearer reviews and ratings and a new, clearer destination page structure to help users efficiently navigate the site.
“Equally importantly, we have undertaken these changes while maintaining HolidayTruths.co.uk’s independence.
“Consumer trust on review sites remains core to their success and we are keen to ensure nothing compromises this most basic aspect of the site.
“We are introducing new user verification processes to ensure HolidayTruths.co.uk remains the UK’s number one site for honest, quantifiable reviews as opposed to a tool for businesses to promote themselves and denigrate their rivals.”
Brown acquired HolidayTruths.co.uk in May following his departure from online travel agency Sunshine.co.uk which he co-founded in 2007.
The deal marked a return to the holiday review business for Brown who sold Holidaywatchdog.com in 2008 to focus on Sunshine.co.uk.
