SEACONTAINERS has acquired full control of cross-Channel joint venture company Hoverspeed Holyman after buying out Holyman’s 50% stake.
Australian ferry operator Holyman went into partnership with SeaCo last year, when the loss-making Ramsgate-Ostend route was wound up and a new Dover-Ostend crossing introduced (Travel Weekly March 11). Holyman had previously operated the service out of Ramsgate with Sally Line under the name Holyman Sally.
A SeaCo spokesman confirmed it had bought out Holyman’s stake in a deal that including the acquisition oftwo fast ferries – Rapide and Diamant – for just under £6.1m.
The other details of the transaction remain confidential.
