Qantas launches probe into ‘drunk’ pilot claims

Australian airline Qantas has begun an investigation after one of its captains was ordered off an aircraft amid suspicions she was drunk.

The incident happened last Monday as the internal flight was about to take off from Sydney bound for Brisbane.

The Boeing 767-300 was already taxiing to the runway when cabin crew raised suspicions and the decision was taken to return the aircraft to the terminal.

Qantas has started an investigation, which is expected to take a month, but would not comment on the incident.

The pilot has been suspended from duties on full pay.
