Advantage recruits build on franchise

ADVANTAGE Travel Centres has hired four more sales development managers to help build the membership of its franchise and boost sales of preferred operators – including its partner Airtours.

Former Carlson regional manager Richard Fox started earlier this month covering London and the southeast.

Peter Bolton, manager of Going Places in Taunton, has been recruited to look after agents in the south and southwest with Advantage commercial manager Jo Rix covering the northeast and Scotland. Both will start later this week.

At the beginning of October, Bakers Dolphin regional sales manager Linda Owens will move to Advantage and cover the west Midlands and Wales.

The consortium now needs only one more to complete its six-strong team having already recruited Heidi Parkinson to cover the northwest region.

“We are now recruiting our final development manager who will cover the Midlands and East Anglia,” said commercial director Neil Armorgie.

He added they will work mainly with franchise agents.

The team will work alongside an existing three-strong, on-the-road sales force.

Airtours’ franchise development director Andrew Williams is targeting 1,000 franchise members by 2002.
