Global Travel Group has announced that Andy Stark will join as its new managing director, following Dave Clayton’s departure to Icelolly.com.
Stark, who is currently operations director at Global Travel Group, will report directly into Stella Travel Services UK chief executive Andrew Botterill, and will take up his appointment with immediate effect.
This follows last week’s announcement that Clayton will be leaving the group to take up the role of chief executive at Icelolly.com.
Stark joined the organisation in March 2009, where he led many projects in Triton Rooms before being promoted to director of operations for the Stella UK Group in October 2011.
He will now assume responsibility for the Global Travel Group which will encompass the Triton Rooms wholesale business.
At the same time, it has been announced that Cherie Richards has been promoted to director of commercial with immediate effect. Richards joined the Stella UK group October 2008 as commercial manager and was promoted to head of commercial in January 2010.
Botterill said: “I am delighted that we have been able to utilise the talent from within our existing management team to replace Dave and I am confident that Andy and his team will be able to take Global to the next level.
“His experience on the product side can only help make the group’s agents even more competitive going forward. I would also like to congratulate Cherie on her promotion and am delighted she will be supporting Andy in his new role.”
Stark said: “I’m looking forward to this very exciting opportunity, and look forward to working with both Dave and Cherie over the coming months to explore how I can help add real value to the group and its members.”
