Air France plays down impact of strike

Air France expects only limited disruption to flights and “a few delays” due to strike action today (Friday).

The airline said it expected to carry all passengers to their final destinations in the face of industrial action by one union.

Ground staff are expected to walk out in protest against the airline’s restructuring plans.

The carrier sought to play down the impact, despite the action being timed to coincide with the start of French school holidays.

“Our teams are doing all they can to limit the impact of this disruption and to provide you with optimum information as early as possible,” the airline said.

“Because of the crowds when going on holidays, we recommend you arrive early at the airport.”

Passengers were also advised to check-in online via the Air France website.
