A new chief executive for Orient-Express Hotels could be announced within the next week.
The move will complicate renewed efforts by Indian Hotels to acquire the luxury hotel chain, according to reports.
The company has been run by interim chief executive Philip Mengel for more than a year.
Orient-Express is set to announce third-quarter financial results next Thursday and could comment on the bid then.
Speculation over a new boss came in the Financial Times today, claiming sources familiar with the company,
Indian Hotels offered to acquire the 93% of Orient-Express it does not already last week own for about $1.86 billion including debt.
Other parties were considering bids for parts or all of the company, but were unlikely to come forward until Orient-Express responded to the Indian Hotels bid, the FT reported.
