Having been so critical of British Airways recently, let me be one of the first to applaud it. It was wonderful to receive a letter on August 11 in which BA instantly eclipsed its competitors by offering us a 10% commission on published fares (Travel Weekly August 16).
If it delivers, this will equal the best commission, as a smallIndependent Air TransportAssociation mixed leisure/ business agent, we have ever received from BA.
I hope all the other airlines who were so quick to follow BA realise they need to move up to 10% to remain competitive. Otherwise BA will go on to be even more dominant.
