This tidy agency was full of smartly dressed staff, one of whom got up to greet me as soon as I entered.
The consultation was more like a friendly chat thanks to the agent’s informal style, but she still covered the relevant points.
She offered me Insight Vacations’ Focus on Ireland tour, departing May 19, for £1,175 each, with a 10% discount if booked by December, including transfers but not the £136 supplement for flights from Bristol.
The agent did lots of research, spending time on the phone checking 2013 prices and looking up each hotel online. And when I mentioned Killarney, she even checked how much it would be to add an extra three nights there.
She gave me plenty of information to take away – a handwritten quotation and brochures for Insight and Leger Holidays to compare. Had it been a genuine enquiry, I would have booked there and then.
