Allport quits Rank for new development role

Peter Allport has left Rank Holidays after 10 years to take on the role of commercial director at development company World Golf Systems.

Allport, who was commercial services, sales and marketing director, will be responsible for launching a leisure product called Golf-Game Centres.

A large part of Allport’s role will be taken over by Nick Burrows who has been appointed to the newly created position of divisional sales and customer services director.

Burrows worked as divisional sales director and in his new position will oversee Rank Holidays database, direct and tactical marketing, sales and the customer services department.

He has responsibility for the company’s five holiday brands: Haven, Haven Europe, Butlins, Warner and Oasis.

Commenting on his departure, Allport said: “I am sorry to leave but I have been presented with a fantastic opportunity to do something new and exciting.”

Rank Holidays managing director Jerry Fowden praised Allport’s contribution to the business, including his expansion of Haven and launch of Oasis Forest Village.
