The Association of Cruise Experts has announced it is moving its Columbus Day for senior professionals to Liverpool for next year.
The trade training arm of the Passenger Shipping Association will once again hold its Selling Cruise conference for travel agents in Southampton, on May 23-24.
But Columbus Day, a one-day conference which was held in Birmingham this year, will move to Liverpool on September 25.
Ace director Andy Harmer said: “We are expecting more than 400 delegates to join us in Southampton and we’re delighted to be showcasing two ships which haven’t previously be seen at an Ace Convention.
“The conference will offer an inspiring and informative opportunity for sales professionals to increase their cruise business.
“In September, we are anticipating a further 400 delegates at Columbus Day in Liverpool for a full day of business sessions specifically targeted at senior members of the cruise industry.
“We will be joined by speakers from inside and outside of the cruise industry and we will also celebrate the efforts of individuals in driving interest and sales in cruise with the Ace Excellence Awards.”
The Selling Cruise conference in Southampton is designed for customer-facing travel professionals and will feature four ships, including two making their debut appearance at an Ace conference.
The first day will provide targeted content for delegates to use once they return to their shops, offices and call centres.
There will also be a ‘Round the World’ trade fair, networking opportunities and a Sail Away Party.
Ship visits will take place on board Fred Olsen Cruises’ Balmoral, P&O Cruises’ Azura and new faces at an Ace conference – Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess and Royal Caribbean International’s Adventure of the Seas.
Ace will also be offering an optional Convention Extra when agents will have the opportunity on Saturday 25 May to visit additional ships including Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 and MSC Opera.
Columbus Day, for senior travel executives, will feature business seminars, debates with key note speakers, networking opportunities and the Ace Cruise Excellence Awards which recognise the contributions made by individuals within the cruise sector.
