Norwegian sale signals early start to ‘wave period’

Prices are being cut by as much as £500 by Norwegian Cruise Line as it launches its ‘wave’ peak booking period promotion from December 5.

European fly-cruises lead in at £756 per person for bookings made by February 14, 2013.

Families are also offered up to £50 off for additional guests or children aged 2-11 per cabin.

Norwegian’s ‘Early Booking Spectacular’ is available on selected sailings of three nights or more between April 2013 and April 2014.

Passengers booking on December 5 or 12 will receive a Christmas gift bag.

Agents will be sent consumer-facing DVDs, a four-page consumer-facing campaign flyer, a regional flights sheet, shelf wobblers and posters. The campaign pack will be delivered directly to agents’ stores via the BP mailbag on December 6.

The offer covers new ship Norwegian Breakway’s inaugural sailing from Southampton to New York  and Norwegian Epic’s sailings from Barcelona.

Vice president and general manager international Francis Riley said: “The winter season is the best time for agents to attract early bookers and our campaign, joined with the special Christmas gift bag offer that we are launching on 5 and 12 December, will put agents in a great position to generate sales.

“This year we have created a campaign, and supporting tools such as flyers, DVDs and point of sale material, which are easy to use and particularly geared towards the UK market.

“The family-focused component of the campaign adds an additional element to our wave offerings for 2013.”
