A new airline plans to start flights between Shoreham and Paris next spring.
Brighton City Airways aims to run twice-daily flights from the West Sussex airport to Paris Pontoise, in the northwest of the French capital.
The carrier plans to use a leased 19-seat LET-410 aircraft, which do not have toilets, from Czech Republic charter airline Van Air Europe.
One-way fares start at £69, rising to around £180, and go on sale from tomorrow (December 1). Passengers will be allowed to book in advance for £20 and settle the remainder of the fare up to two weeks before their flight.
The airline, which plans to launch flights on March 6, is a joint venture between aviation enthusiast Neil Laughton and Jonathan Candelon, managing director of pilot school Flying Time Aviation.
More routes are planned to destinations within a one-hour flight time from Brighton. These could include Brussels Charleroi, Amsterdam and Calais.
Laughton told the Daily Mail: “This has long-term benefits for the local community too as there are many businesses in Sussex who can use this service on a regular basis.
“Holidaymakers or Paris day-trippers can also make the most of travelling to and from Shoreham’s charming airport, where parking is easy and check in to take-off takes just minutes.”
