Snow in Europe disrupts flights

Heavy snow across the Continent is expected to disrupt flights to and from the UK today.

EasyJet warned that several airports may be affected in northern and central Europe.

“We are taking proactive measures to minimise the disruption and we strongly advise that passengers allow extra time for their journeys to the airport, check the status of your flight before leaving and closely monitor local weather forecasts,” the airline advised.

Ryanair said that snow across Northern France, Belgium, Holland and Germany may affect flights today.

“We strongly advise passengers to check the status of your flight on ryanair.com,” the airline said.

More than 40 flights were cancelled from Brussels airport this morning. Passengers were urged to check their flights before travelling to the airport.

Air France and KLM flights to Amsterdam and Paris cancelled from Edinburgh due to adverse weather conditions.
