Royal Caribbean kicks off wave campaign

Up to $1,000 on-board spend on ex-UK sailings leads Royal Caribbean International’s peak ‘wave’ season campaign.

The ‘Unbeatable Sale’ applies to bookings taken between Monday (December 10) and February 28, 2013, and includes flights starting at £59 to connect to ships sailing from other European ports.

Free balcony cabin upgrades are also available on selected European and worldwide sailings.

Agents are being incentivised with a daily prize draw to win one of five £100 Love2shop vouchers, redeemable at many high street stores.

The promotion features interactive Blippar video content for smartphones and branded merchandise.

Agents will receive marketing material including branded point of sale stands, bunting, balloons and pens.

A new mini brochure featuring details on the new pricing, top offers and full details on selling tips for the campaign will also be distributed to agents at the end of December.

Head of trade sales Nicki Tempest-Mitchell said: “We are offering up to $1,000 for bookings made during the turn-of-year campaign, which is massive and the largest added-value booking incentive we’ve ever done.

“This should encourage customers to book early with confidence.

“We’ve also produced some great videos to bring the experience to life and ensure that agents are in the best position to sell all the extras that are now included in the price, and $1,000 on-board spend goes a long way on a cruise.”

Promotional cruise prices lead in at £1,149 for a 12-night Baltics cruise on Adventure of the Seas in June 2013, including up to $1,000 on-board credit per cabin.
