Warning of widespread snow disruption in Europe

A warning of “significant flight disruption” due to snow across Europe has been made by easyJet this morning.

Airports in Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Basel, Geneva and Zurich are all affected.

“EasyJet is aware that there is a possible risk of large accumulations of snow at the airports listed above. As a result there is potential for significant disruption.

“We would encourage you to check the status of your flight using the easyJet flight tracker and allow extra time for journeys to and from the airport.”

The alert came as forecasters warned of major snow falls across the UK on Friday following freezing temperatures tonight and tomorrow.

Flights were disrupted from Norwich airport today due to heavy snow and ice.

London City Airport flights were being disrupted this morning due to low visibility caused by fog.  Passengers were advised to call their airlines for more information.
